Fall Leaves ART PROJECT

I’ve been having fun experimenting with what I call “faux watercolor”.  FALL LEAVES ART PROJECT can be done with any grade level. The bleeding from the tissue paper is a non-messy way to add a watercolor effect to artwork. This works great for teachers on an “ART CART” or with limited supplies.

MATERIALS:
oil pastels, watercolor paper, and blues & purples of cut tissue paper.

**IMPORTANT** TEST YOUR TISSUE PAPER, some tissue papers do not bleed.

Begin by drawing different types of leaves and then outlining them with brown or red oil pastel. Then used fall colors of oil pastels to create a light to dark transition in each leaf.
Brush water on the watercolor paper and start placing pieces of tissue paper over the whole thing. **It is necessary to work in small sections to be sure the paper is wet when placing the tissue paper on. The color from the tissue paper will bleed on to the watercolor paper.
Let dry and shake off the tissue paper.
