Halloween Art Lesson in Watercolor & Oil Pastel- 4th Grade
This lesson can be easily modified for different grades and different mediums.
Draw in the ground, tree, cat, Jack-o-lantern and moon.
Use yellow oil pastel to color in the moon, eyes and mouth (I use white right on top of the yellow to brighten it a bit). Then color the rest with the black oil pastel.
Whenever I use watercolor, I only let them use a few colors out of the watercolor trays to avoid the mess. I used orange, pink and purple for the skies. We fill each of those watercolor pans with water. I prefer the colors in the Prang Watercolor Sets
I quickly paint in from bottom to top, orange first at the bottom of the sky and then pink in the center and purple towards the top.
The results were stunning!
