Warm, Cool & Neutral Landscapes 6th Grade

My 6th graders don’t need review of a basic color wheel, so we focus on Warm, Cool, and Neutral colors.
We start with a simple abstract landscape drawing: hills, plains, and a sun with radiating rings, on watercolor paper.
Using Crayola Watercolor Pencils, we color the sky with warm colors, ground with cool colors and the hills with neutrals.
Once the landscape is colored in we use a small amount of water on a watercolor brush and paint over each color, one at a time.
